Welcome to counseling!  Counselors work with all students across a number of areas.  We subscribe to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) national model of school counseling and strive to meet our students' needs through individual counseling, group counseling, and classroom guidance.  We work with students on academic, career, and personal/social needs.

PGMS Counseling Department Philosophy and Mission

The Counseling Department at Piney Grove Middle School believes that each student has a right to be educated in a safe and healthy environment regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.  School counselors must facilitate awareness within the educational framework of human dynamics and developmental issues with students, provide interventions aimed at prevention and respond to crisis situations within the school.  Counselors must also collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to ensure our students receive the resources necessary to promote success.
