Mentoring Program

What is a Mentor?

A mentor is a trusted adult who provides consistent support, motivation, and direction to help students succeed both personally and academically. They create a safe space for students to be heard, model positive behavior, and encourage growth by helping young people recognize and build on their talents and potential.

How Do I Become a FCS Mentor?

Becoming a mentor requires completing the FCS 25-26 Mentor Application, attending a two-hour training session, and completing a background check. Training dates/times are listed within the FCS 25-26 Mentor Application and a background check form will be provided at training.

Forsyth County Schools Mentoring Program follows the FCS school calendar and all mentors are asked to meet with their mentee for at least 30 minutes per week for the duration of the school year.
